JOANNA TANGER, Founder/Editor of HCZ
Hip Chick Zine was founded by Joanna Tanger in 2003. It is a part of GIRL STUFF Publishers, which Tanger started in 1998, when she was in junior high. GIRL STUFF Publishers is dedicated to empowering and inspiring young women from around the globe to make a positive change in the world, while creating a sense of community. Tanger graduated from Bard College in 2007 with a Liberal Arts degree, concentration in Cultural Anthropology. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Prague, Czech Republic, where she received her TEFL certificate and went on to teach Business/Medical English for Skrivanek. Some of her clients included an Advisor to the Czech president, and the Country President of a major international medical company. Tanger has lived in Vermont, New York, Ireland and the Czech Republic, and has traveled extensively. She has worked for a couple different non-profits (including her current position at Pure Water for the World), and is the Burlington Natural Beauty Examiner. HipChickZine.net aims to blend her loves of writing, art, indie style, and women's issues. She can be reached at editor@hipchickzine.net.

KATE DAVID-HAYS, Contributing Food Editor
"Hi, I'm 28 years old, and have a degree in Culinary Arts from New England Culinary Institute and a Restaurant Management degree from Johnson & Wales. I own my own catering company called 'Amuse Bouche Catering' and I am currently writing a cookbook featuring all my original fusion recipes, along with my own illustrations. When cooking, I focus on using everyday ingredients and using them in an unexpected way. I cook with a lot of flowers and make my own spices and cures."

ELA HAWES, Contributing Fashion Writer
Ela Hawes is a freelance fashion journalist and an artist based in London. She has been working for broadcast TV channels and newspapers since the age of 17 as a journalist and a fixer. After working on the fashion desk of an international economy newspaper for a while, she branched out to the fashion and art industry.

Hawes admires the thin line of well-tailored, creative outbursts of design and fabric. What inspires her most is the unity of intelligence and style blending itself to our everyday wardrobe. She especially loves diamonds.
